Shreveport's Step or Die gang members and associates have been sentenced for defrauding the government of over $2.2 million through fake business loans under the CARES Act. The 24 defendants falsely claimed to own businesses to qualify for PPP and EIDL loans, receiving over $600,000 and applying for an additional $2.2 million. They now face federal prison terms and restitution payments.
