Pennsylvania state police have identified the remains found in 1973 near Fort Indiantown Gap as 14-year-old Ruth Elizabeth Brenneman, who went missing after leaving for school in York County. The body, discovered under a tarp by game wardens, was exhumed in 2016 and identified through genetic genealogy. The cause of her death remains undetermined, and the investigation is ongoing. Her family expressed gratitude for the closure after 51 years.
