Norway extends detention of Cameroonian separatist leader accused of crimes against humanity.

Norway has extended the detention of Cameroonian separatist leader Cho Lucas Yabah until January 14, 2025, due to alleged crimes against humanity. Yabah, accused of leading an armed separatist group blamed for kidnapping civilians, was arrested last September. The conflict in Cameroon's anglophone regions has caused over 6,000 deaths and displaced more than a million people. Despite these charges, the Ambazonia movement claims his detention is politically motivated and lacks substantial evidence.
