North Korean hackers stole $41.5M in Ethereum from a South Korean exchange in 2019, FBI says.

South Korean police have confirmed that North Korean military hackers stole $41.5 million worth of Ethereum cryptocurrency in a 2019 heist from a South Korean exchange. The hackers laundered over half of the stolen assets through crypto exchanges they set up, while the rest was distributed to 51 different exchanges. This marks the first time North Korea has been identified as the source of a cyberattack on a South Korean crypto exchange. The FBI collaborated in the investigation.
