Nigeria's two major airports recertified, meeting safety standards but needing improvements.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has recertified Lagos's Murtala Muhammed International Airport and Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, four years after their last certification. While the airports meet minimum safety standards, more work is needed on runways and lighting to fully comply with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. The recertification is a step towards improving aviation safety in Nigeria.
