New wind-powered CO2 capture project aims to remove up to 50,000 tons annually in Texas.

Return Carbon and Verified Carbon have launched 'Project Concho,' a new Direct Air Capture (DAC) hub in San Angelo, Texas, aiming to be the first fully wind-powered DAC facility. Using 100% wind power, the project will capture and store up to 50,000 tons of CO2 annually, with plans to expand to 500,000 tons by 2030. The initiative, which uses advanced DAC technology, is set to be completed by November 2024 and could significantly advance efforts to combat climate change.
