New Brunswick oysters have tested positive for two diseases, MSX and dermo, with dermo being detected in Canada for the first time. These diseases do not pose risks to human health but increase oyster mortality and decrease growth rates. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is collaborating with provincial and Indigenous groups to monitor and manage the infections.
