Japanese skaters Mone Chiba and Shun Sato led their respective short programs at the ISU Grand Prix Cup of China.

At the ISU Grand Prix Cup of China, Japan's Mone Chiba and Shun Sato led the women's and men's short programs, with Chiba scoring 70.86 points and Sato 98.75. Chiba narrowly beat the U.S.'s Amber Glenn, while the top three women's spots were all Japanese. Sato topped the men's event, with Kazakhstan and France in second and third. Both Chiba and Sato aim to qualify for the Grand Prix Final in Grenoble, France.
