GM is set to join Formula One as a team by 2026 and could provide engines from 2028.

General Motors (GM) is close to securing a spot on the Formula One grid as early as 2026, potentially becoming the 11th team. This move comes after the FIA initially approved Andretti's application, which was then rejected by F1. GM's entry faces less opposition from existing teams, with some expressing openness if it adds value to the sport. The deal could also see GM becoming a power unit provider from 2028.
