An emperor penguin, named Gus, made an unprecedented journey from Antarctica to a tourist beach in Western Australia, covering about 3,500 kilometers. Found undernourished, Gus was cared for by wildlife caregiver Carol Biddulph and gained weight over 20 days. The penguin, the first of its kind to reach Australia, was released back into the ocean to better thermoregulate during the Southern Hemisphere's summer.
