China expands visa-free entry to 38 countries, extending stay to 30 days, to boost tourism and economy.

China will allow citizens from nine additional countries to enter visa-free starting November 30, 2024, with the aim of boosting tourism and business travel to support economic recovery. The countries included are Bulgaria, Romania, Malta, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Estonia, Latvia, and Japan. The visa-free period has been extended from 15 to 30 days, and this expansion brings the total number of countries eligible for visa-free access to 38 since 2023. The move also includes exchanges for the first time.
