Canadian company Irving Tissue invests $600M in Georgia mill, adding 100 jobs and boosting production.

Canadian tissue paper maker Irving Tissue plans to invest $600 million in expanding its Macon, Georgia mill, creating 100 new jobs. The expansion will add a third paper machine, increasing production by 50%, and include an automated warehouse. Currently producing 165,000 tons annually, the mill will produce 248,000 tons by 2027. Irving Tissue sources pulp from its mill in New Brunswick and wood from owned timberlands in New Brunswick and Maine. The company currently employs 400 workers, with wages ranging from $22 to $30 an hour.
