Woman arrested for abandoning newborn on hiking trail near Austin; Texas' Baby Moses Law not utilized.

A 37-year-old woman, Julie Alexander, was arrested in San Antonio after abandoning her newborn baby on a hiking trail near Austin Highway. The baby was found alive and taken to a hospital, while Alexander, showing signs of recent childbirth, was charged with abandonment and endangerment of a child. Texas' Baby Moses Law allows parents to safely surrender newborns up to 60 days old at fire stations and hospitals without fear of prosecution.
