Report highlights Kentucky's high rates of childhood adversity, food insecurity, and unprepared kindergartners.

Kentucky Youth Advocates' report highlights challenges for the state's children, including 25% experiencing two or more adverse childhood experiences, higher than the national average. Food insecurity affects 21% of Kentucky children, and only 48% of kindergartners are ready to learn, down from 51% before the pandemic. Despite some improvements, child poverty remains high, affecting one in five Kentucky children. The report recommends policies to address these issues, such as boosting affordable housing and mentoring programs.
