A non-venomous gopher snake, found in a Hawaii Christmas tree shipment, prompts a wildlife threat alert.

A gopher snake was found in a shipment of Christmas trees at a store in Hilo, Hawaii. The non-venomous snake, two feet long, was discovered by store workers and reported to the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. Gopher snakes pose a threat to Hawaii's native wildlife. The department expects 135 containers of Christmas trees this season, with around 88 already arriving. The public is urged to report any illegal animals by calling the PEST HOTLINE.
