A massive landslide in British Columbia's Chilcotin River last July, which temporarily dammed the river, has caused three significant slope failures since, with the latest blocking the river for three hours. The Tsilhqot'in National Government, part of a salmon task force, warns of ongoing instability and "extreme conservation concern" for Chilcotin River steelhead. Ongoing research and fieldwork are planned to assess the impact on salmon and river changes.
