Missouri Highway Patrol intensifies Thanksgiving enforcement to curb accidents, with a focus on new no-phone law.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) will enhance enforcement during the Thanksgiving holiday, from 6 p.m. on November 27 to midnight on December 1, aiming to reduce traffic accidents. Last year saw nine fatalities and 4,823 injuries in 1,342 crashes. MSHP stresses safety measures like avoiding phone use and wearing seat belts. A new law banning handheld device use while driving will also be enforced, with fines starting in January.
