Lockheed Martin and Romanian firm build €50 million battery factory in Oradea for renewable energy storage.

Lockheed Martin and Romanian company Sinteza SA are building a €50 million factory in Oradea to produce components for GridStar Flow batteries, aimed at enhancing renewable energy storage. The facility, set to begin operations in summer 2026, will be Europe's first and the world's largest, producing 30,000 tons of negative electrolyte annually. This project supports Romania's goals for energy efficiency and security, while also promoting the country's role in sustainable energy production.
