Karnataka's CM seeks increased agricultural loans from center after NABARD cuts funding.

Karnataka's Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, met with Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, on November 21 to request an increase in short-term agricultural loans for the state. NABARD has reduced the loan allocation by 58% for the 2024-25 season, jeopardizing Karnataka's goal of disbursing ₹25,000 crore to 35 lakh farmers. Siddaramaiah urged for enhanced credit limits to support agriculture and ensure food grain production.
