Former Jersey City aide sues, claims firing was due to political and racial discrimination.

Jonathan Gomez Noriega, a former aide to Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and member of the city’s LGBTQ+ task force, has filed a lawsuit alleging he was fired for supporting his conservative sister’s political campaign. Noriega claims his termination violated his First Amendment rights, discriminated against his race, and violated his civil rights. The lawsuit seeks various damages and court relief. The city has called the lawsuit meritless.
