Former Canadian pediatric cardiologist pleads guilty to possessing child porn, faces up to 20 years in prison.

Antonio Belda, a former pediatric cardiologist from Canada working in Baton Rouge, has pleaded guilty to possessing over 170 videos and 3,000 images of child pornography, including some depicting sexual assault of children as young as 8. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Belda may also be deported after serving his sentence. The case is part of the DOJ's Project Safe Childhood initiative against child exploitation.
