Auckland City Hospital installs a $11.7M LINAC to enhance cancer treatment precision and speed.

A new MV5 linear accelerator (LINAC) machine has been installed at Auckland City Hospital to provide more precise cancer treatment, reducing radiation exposure to healthy tissues. This $11.7 million upgrade project, funded by the government, aims to speed up and improve cancer care. The installation is part of a broader effort that includes a $604 million investment in cancer medicines, with 14 medicines already funded. The government's goal is to ensure 90% of cancer patients receive treatment within 31 days.
