Food bank usage in the UK dropped 4% between April and September 2024, with 1.4 million parcels distributed, down from last year. Trussell Trust, a food bank network, attributes the decrease to slower price hikes and improved housing benefits. However, CEO Emma Revie describes current hunger levels as "heartbreaking" and urges the government to develop a clearer plan to end food insecurity. Despite the decline, the number of parcels is still higher than in 2019.
