Minnesota's $1.1 billion Sherco Solar Project, located near the state's largest power plant, has begun generating electricity. Once fully operational by 2026, it will produce 710 megawatts of solar power, enough to power 150,000 homes. The project, a key part of Minnesota's goal to transition to 100% clean energy by 2040, will create 400 construction jobs and 12 ongoing jobs. It will also utilize battery storage to ensure continuous power supply.
