Japan sees record 3.31 million foreign visitors in October, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

Japan welcomed a record 3.31 million foreign visitors in October, surpassing July's previous high of 3.29 million. The surge is attributed to a weak yen and the autumn foliage season. Visitors from China more than doubled compared to last year, while tourists from Europe and North America exceeded pre-pandemic levels by about 60%. As of October, Japan has received over 30 million foreign visitors, nearing the 2019 record of 31.9 million before the pandemic.
