Companies test new data center cooling system using direct chip cooling to save energy and reduce emissions.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, NTT Communications, and NEC Networks are testing a new cooling system for data centers that cools chips directly using a two-phase refrigerant. This system, to be demonstrated at a Tokyo data center, aims to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions without major modifications. It addresses the cooling challenges posed by high-performance processors like GPUs and could support the addition of more powerful servers in existing facilities.
