A civilian driver was hospitalized after colliding with a Charleston County ambulance; the driver was ejected.

A civilian driver was hospitalized after a crash with a Charleston County ambulance on Monday. The ambulance was on a non-emergency call and changing lanes to turn onto Rutledge Road when it was struck by the civilian vehicle. The driver, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected through the sunroof. The ambulance crew reported no injuries. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
