U.S. firm Synata Bio gets $4.5M from China for project converting waste gases to ethanol.

Synata Bio, a U.S. company, received a $4.5 million grant from China’s NDRC for its Sylonto project, which aims to convert waste gases into 50,000 tons of ethanol annually at Henan Longyu’s production site. The project, a collaboration with Chinese firms, supports China’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Plans include expanding ethanol production to 500,000 tons by 2028.
