Twenty paintings from the estate of Linda Bean, granddaughter of L.L. Bean founder, are set to be auctioned in New York by Bonhams. The collection, worth over $3 million, features works by the Wyeth family and Norman Rockwell's "A Scout is Loyal," valued at $3 to $5 million. Bean, who died in March at 82, was a Maine businesswoman, philanthropist, and conservative activist, and served on L.L. Bean's board for nearly 50 years.
