Otep Shamaya, frontwoman of the rock band Otep, has announced her retirement from music. She made the announcement on social media while selling her equipment, confirming she will no longer tour or make music. Otep, formed in 2000, has released nine albums, with their most successful being "Smash the Control Machine" in 2009. Shamaya will provide reasons for her retirement by the end of the year.
