Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello was stripped of duties over alleged misuse of nearly $2 million in church funds.

Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, pastor of a Brooklyn church, was stripped of his duties after allegedly misusing nearly $2 million in church funds, transferring them to entities linked to Frank Carone, a key advisor to Mayor Eric Adams. The Diocese of Brooklyn also found that Gigantiello used a church credit card for personal expenses and allowed a pop star to film a music video at the church against policy. The investigation is ongoing, with no criminal charges filed yet.
