A woman, Katrina Carvalho, has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years for the first-degree murder of her sister's boyfriend, Vintell Johnson, in Sparks, Nevada. The shooting occurred in February 2021 during an argument in their apartment complex parking lot. Carvalho fled to Los Angeles but was arrested in December 2021. A formal sentencing for the deadly weapons enhancement is scheduled for January 15, 2025.
