Japanese shipping and power firms partner to study hydrogen transport vessels for a zero-carbon future.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Kansai Electric Power Company have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly study liquefied hydrogen carriers, marking Japan's first such agreement between a shipping and a power generation company. The study will focus on optimal vessel design, operations, and legal compliance for hydrogen transport, aiming to establish a hydrogen fuel supply chain and support a zero-carbon society.
