Jalue Dorje, an 18-year-old recognized as a reincarnated lama by the Dalai Lama, celebrated his last birthday in Minnesota before moving to a monastery in India. Born in Minneapolis, Dorje balanced a typical American teenage life, including playing football and listening to rap music, with his spiritual duties.
