China develops high-yield tea-oil camellia, boosting edible oil production and rural incomes.

Chinese experts have developed a new high-yield tea-oil camellia variety called "Deyou No. 2," which is expected to produce 731.12 kg of fruit per mu, far more than traditional varieties. This new variety, developed through 20 years of hybridization, could boost China's edible oil self-sufficiency. The Chinese government plans to expand tea-oil camellia plantations, which have helped lift many underprivileged residents out of poverty.
