Tasmanian Supreme Court Justice resigns after being found guilty of abusing his former partner.

Tasmanian Supreme Court Justice Gregory Geason has resigned after being found guilty of assaulting and emotionally abusing his former partner. He was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and placed on a 12-month community corrections order. Geason, who had been on leave since being charged in November 2023, intended to resign due to losing his moral authority, avoiding a parliamentary motion to remove him.
