Schoolies weekend on the Gold Coast saw low arrests and minimal offenses, praised by police.

The first weekend of Schoolies celebrations on the Gold Coast saw mostly responsible behavior from the 20,000 teens in attendance, with only four arrests among Schoolies and eight others for minor offenses like drug possession. Queensland Police praised the respectful conduct, considering the low arrest numbers a success. Police also conducted knife searches under Jack's Law, seizing two knives, a set of knuckle dusters, and a fold-back knife from non-Schoolies attendees. Searches will continue until the event ends on December 1.
