NHS advises taking 300mg aspirin if a heart attack is suspected, to help reduce blood clotting.

The NHS and British Heart Foundation advise taking a 300mg aspirin if a heart attack is suspected, while waiting for medical help, to reduce blood clotting and improve heart blood flow. Aspirin should only be taken if available and not if one has an allergy. For those with heart attack history or risk, a daily low-dose aspirin might be prescribed. Symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, and pain spreading to arms or jaw.
