Maersk converts its Halifax container ship to run on methanol, marking a green fuel transition.

Maersk has successfully converted its container ship, Maersk Halifax, into a dual-fuel vessel capable of running on methanol. The retrofit, completed at a Chinese shipyard in 88 days, included modifying the engine and expanding the hull by 15 meters to accommodate new fuel tanks, increasing its capacity to 15,690 TEU. This marks a significant step in Maersk's transition to low-emission fuels.
