Indian TV audience measurement firm BARC reports a 44% profit drop despite small revenue decline.

The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) in India reported a 44% drop in profit to Rs 20 crore for the fiscal year 2023-24, despite a slight 0.6% revenue decline to Rs 319 crore. BARC, which measures TV audiences, sees 75% of its revenue from broadcasters and uses advanced technology with 60,000 'Bar-O meters' for data. MDPL, which maintains the meters, also saw a 60% fall in profits.
