Indian Supreme Court orders Bihar government to address bridge safety concerns within six weeks.

The Supreme Court of India has given the Bihar government six weeks to respond to a petition over bridge safety following multiple collapses in recent months. Filed by lawyer Brajesh Singh, the petition seeks a structural audit and the creation of an expert panel to assess and improve bridge conditions. The National Highway Authority of India has also been asked to respond. The court will hear the case on February 15, 2025.
