A 24-year-old Indian Army soldier, Subhakanta Sahoo, was revived after his heart stopped for nearly two hours, thanks to an advanced medical procedure called eCPR at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Initially given up for dead, Sahoo's heart started beating again after doctors used Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), a technique that supports heart and lung functions. His recovery marks a significant achievement in Odisha's medical history.
