Former BJP leader and Odisha Minister Samir Dey, 67, died in Cuttack after a long illness.

Former Odisha Minister and BJP leader Samir Dey, aged 67, passed away on Monday in Cuttack after battling a prolonged illness. Dey served as the Urban Development Minister from 2000 to 2004 and as Higher Education Minister from 2004 to 2009. He was a three-term MLA from Cuttack and played a key role in bolstering the BJP's presence in the state. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over his death.
