Elders buys Delta Agribusiness for $470M to boost ag tech expertise and fill retail gaps.

Elders, a major farm services company, has agreed to acquire Delta Agribusiness for over $470 million to expand its technical expertise in ag tech and precision agriculture. Delta, an NSW-based agribusiness with 68 branches and 40 wholesale customers, generated $835 million in revenue last year. The deal, expected to be completed by June 2024, aims to fill retail gaps in various regions and enhance Elders' offerings. Despite a 55% drop in profit for the 2023-24 year, Elders sees this acquisition as a strategic move to strengthen its market position.
