Australian farmers could earn up to $1.1 billion by hosting renewable energy projects by 2030.

A new report estimates that Australian farmers hosting renewable energy infrastructure like wind and solar farms could earn up to $1.1 billion by 2030, potentially rising to $5 billion by 2040. The report by the Clean Energy Council and Farmers for Climate Action also predicts regional communities could collect around $200 million through community benefit schemes and power bill rebates by 2030, increasing to $1.9 billion by 2050. These financial benefits are seen as a stable income source for farmers, unaffected by market fluctuations and weather conditions.
