India suggests odd-even rule for Delhi cars to curb air pollution, promoting electric and biogas vehicles.

The Indian Biogas Association suggests enforcing an odd-even rule for four-wheelers in Delhi to fight air pollution and encourage the use of electric or compressed biogas (CBG) vehicles. This rule is part of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) 4, triggered when the air quality index exceeds 450. The association also recommends subsidies on EVs and CNG/CBG vehicles and incentives for households that segregate organic waste to produce biogas. The Delhi government has allocated Rs 858.5 crore for air pollution control in the 2024-25 budget.
