Despite a Q3 surge, Ireland's VC funding drops 18% year-to-date, facing capital shortages.

Despite a 1% rise in Q3 venture capital (VC) investment to €192 million, Ireland saw an overall 18% drop in VC funding to €945.3 million for the year's first nine months. The Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA) attributes some of the decline to potential US protectionist policies. Life sciences led funding with 42%, yet the IVCA warns of a critical shortage of private capital in Ireland and the over-reliance on foreign direct investment.
