Danish app Too Good To Go fights food waste, selling leftover meals and raising $158M.

Too Good To Go, a Danish startup, helps reduce food waste by selling discounted "surprise bags" of leftover food from retailers like restaurants and bakeries. The app, which operates in 19 countries, including the U.S., where it arrived in 2020, brings in $162 million annually and has raised $158 million in funding. It charges a $1.79 per bag fee and an $89 annual membership from retailers. While not yet profitable, the company reinvests its cash flow into expansion and new services. Too Good To Go aims to address global food waste, which costs the world $1 trillion annually.
