China's first domestically designed and built deep-ocean drilling vessel, Meng Xiang, was commissioned in Guangzhou on November 17. With a maximum drilling depth of 11 kilometers, the Meng Xiang supports global missions and integrates scientific drilling, oil and gas exploration, and natural gas hydrate investigation. The vessel, spanning 179.8 meters, can operate in rough sea conditions and supports extensive marine research, marking a significant step in deep ocean exploration.
