Blind peer Lord Blunkett injured himself falling into a station gap, urging TfL to improve platform safety.

Lord Blunkett, a blind Labour peer, fell into a gap at a London Underground station, injuring himself while boarding a District Line train with his guide dog. As he is on blood thinners due to a recent heart attack, the injuries are particularly concerning. Lord Blunkett is urging Transport for London (TfL) to improve platform safety by filling wider gaps and ensuring staff are available during rush hour. TfL's director of customer operations, Nick Dent, expressed regret and confirmed a meeting to discuss improvements.
